Why EMA?
The Energy Management Professional (EMP) Seminar is a one-and-a-half day program that includes classroom discussion of the energy management process as described in the DOE Better Buildings Workforce Guidelines and EMA’s Energy Management Guideline. It is available in-person, virtually, and on-demand.
The EMP certification is ANAB accredited and recognized by the DOE’s Better Buildings program. Through its extensive partnerships with media, EMA assists its members to submit guest articles, present at industry events, participate in webinars. EMA also highlights members’ success in the monthly Energy Wise newsletter.
Through its strategic alliance with the Associated Air Balance Council and the AABC Commissioning Group, EMA members exchange ideas and expertise with over 600 member companies and 2,000 certified professionals in the testing, adjusting, and balancing and commissioning industries.

The Energy Management Association is dedicated to advancing the quality of energy management for the benefit of the building owner. EMA applies energy management skills and knowledge to the commissioning methodology and is committed to the certification and training of Energy Management Professionals (EMPs).
The AABC Commissioning Group is dedicated to the advancement of independent, third-party commissioning services. ACG strives to promote a better understanding of the commissioning process, and to identify, educate and certify qualified individuals as Certified Commissioning Authorities (CxAs), and Certified Commissioning Technicians (CxTs).
