Virtual EMP Seminar

This two-day, six-hour course provides an overview and refresher on energy management and how it can be applied. Instructors explain EMA’s commissioning-based approach to energy management that maximizes energy savings and optimizes building performance. Sample problems and common calculations will be demonstrated throughout the workshop. This course is also open to non-certification candidates at a discounted rate. Handouts and a recording of the seminar will be provided.

Fees

The total cost to attend is $550, which also covers application and exam fees. Companies who have staff member successfully pass the Energy Management Professional exam are invited to join as EMA Corporate Members. Corporate Membership dues are $250-$500 a year.

Those who wish to attend for educational purposes may register for the seminar alone for $300 (does not include certification fees).

You may be eligible for a cash rebate: This course is preapproved for incentives provided by the following utility companies to contractors and building operation personnel who operate in Maryland. Eligible participants will receive a cash rebate of up to 100% of enrollment costs per course from BG&E, Pepco (MD), Delmarva Power and SMECO, and up to 80% from Potomac Edison. Exam

After the seminar, candidates with approved applications are sent instructions on how to schedule an exam at one of 900 local testing centers. This seminar is also available to non-candidates for education purposes.

EMP Certification

All **eligible** EMP Seminar attendees pursuing certification need to submit an EMP application. Seminar registrants who paid the $550 fee do not need to submit payment with an EMP application.

Your Instructors

Robert Knoedler is an executive consultant and vice president at Hanson Professional Services and past president of the Energy Management Association (EMA). He has spent over 40 years as a consultant in mechanical/electrical facility design, commissioning, and energy management. Bob has presented to numerous private and governmental organizations and has published a number of articles related to energy management and commissioning.

With 42 years of professional experience, Al has worked on a broad range of building types, including educational, healthcare, and commercial facilities. He is well versed in the design and analysis of HVAC systems and providing engineering services, including planning, analysis and construction observation from project inception through construction administration. His engineering expertise focuses on systems commissioning, energy analysis and energy auditing.
