Taking an Exam at a Local Testing Center:
EMA has partnered with Kryterion to bring testing to a city near you. Approved candidates for the EMP exam will be able to take the test through a world-wide network of over 900 local testing centers. Interested candidates can find a center near them by using EMA’s vendor Kryterion’s test center locator.

Taking an Exam via Remote Proctoring

EMA has partnered with Kryterion to offer remote proctoring, so candidates across the globe have a convenient and accessible exam delivery method. This new option allows candidates the flexibility to sit for their exams from the comfort of their homes or offices, provided they meet the specific technology requirements. Please note that it is not recommended to use a work issued computer for this exam. The remote proctoring option comes at no additional cost.

Testing at In-Person EMP Seminars
EMA regularly holds an intensive one-and-a-half day seminar to help candidates understand the energy management process and how it can be applied. The seminar features 12 hours of highly interactive instruction based on the Energy Manager “Job Task Analysis” adopted by the DOE’s Better Buildings Workforce. Certification Fees:
Individuals employed by an EMA member company, or by a company that has submitted a completed application EMP Application must submit a $250 fee. All other individuals, $1000.
