(Washington, D.C., August 25, 2021) — The Energy Management Association (EMA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Insulation Association (NIA) to facilitate collaboration, education, training, and information sharing.

“I am very excited to embark on this collaboration with Energy Management Association as we both see the enormous value in working together. This is yet another tangible example of President David J. Cox’s yearlong theme, ‘Together for Tomorrow,’ which focuses on building relationships and confidence for the future,” said NIA Executive Vice President/CEO Michele M. Jones.

As part of this agreement, NIA members receive a discount on the Energy Management Professional Seminars, which explain EMA’s commissioning-based approach to energy management that maximizes energy savings and optimizes building performance.

In turn, NIA will also be sharing resources with EMA membership via subscription to an Insulation Outlook magazine, the only international magazine devoted exclusively to industrial and commercial insulation applications, products, and materials.

Being a part of the larger alliance – the Authorities in Building Performance – EMA offers NIA members relationship-building opportunities with members of the AABC Commissioning Group (ACG) and the Associated Air Balance Council (AABC). Together, this network consists of over 600 member companies and 2,500 certified professionals in the testing, adjusting, and balancing, commissioning, and energy management industries.

The Energy Management Association is dedicated to providing education, training and certification to energy management professionals on behalf of building owners. Its Energy Management Professional Certification (EMP) features a commissioning-based curriculum that maximizes energy efficiency and optimization of building systems.

The National Insulation Association® (NIA) is a not-for-profit trade association representing merit (open shop) and union contractors, distributors, laminators, fabricators, and manufacturers that provide thermal insulation, insulation accessories, and components to the commercial, mechanical, and industrial markets throughout the nation.
