This course provides an overview and refresher on energy management and how it can be applied. Instructors explain EMA’s commissioning-based approach to energy management to maximize energy savings and optimize building performance. Sample problems and common calculations will be demonstrated throughout the workshop. (Note: Individuals interested in EMP certification must submit a completed application 21 days in advance of the exam.)

According to DOE, O&M measures cost about 20 times less and achieve roughly the same energy savings as energy efficiency upgrades. Our certified and experienced instructor will walk you through the basics of energy management strategies, including evaluating energy bills, establishing building energy baselines and other performance metrics, developing facility benchmarks, low cost/no cost techniques for improving efficiency and performance, code compliance and more.

Also available as training targeted to universities, hospitals and other campus facilities with central energy plants, or for data centers and other mission-critical facilities.

Are you ready for the Net Zero Future? Learn about the new requirements for commercial building owners under the Building Efficiency Performance Standard (BEPS) in your state. Our certified and experienced instructors will walk you through the basics of energy management, strategies for limiting greenhouse gas emissions, and incentives available to you through state, federal and municipal programs, all while improving your bottom line.

According to US EPA, an average of 30% of the energy used in commercial buildings is wasted. Getting at potential energy savings requires careful analysis, astute interpretation of data, effective project execution and thorough measurement and verification of results. This training session offers a deep dive into this process along with multiple real-time calculations that support it.

Did you know that AI in the energy industry has been around for over 20 years? Proponents cite a variety of new tools leveraging AI to accelerate electrification and manage the grid loads. At the same time, building systems are incorporating smart infrastructure and IoT devices, and facilities are generating and collecting a mountain of data. AI can evaluate this information faster and more thoroughly than human analysis. However, what benefits and concerns are associated with the use of AI to manage both the grid and building systems?
